The Great Season 3 Update – What We Know So Far

The great season 3

The great season 3

16A comedy-drama streaming television series based on the life of Catherine the Great, Empress of All Russia, and produced by a team of British, American, and Australian actors, initially titled The Great: An Occasionally True Story and later as The Great: An Almost Entirely Untrue Story, The Great is a British-American-Australian comedy-drama streaming television series described by its commissioner Hulu as “anti-historical.” A total of 10 episodes from the first season were posted on Hulu on May 15, 2020, a day before the show’s premiere. Elle Fanning portrays Empress Catherine II, while Nicholas Hoult portrays Emperor Peter III in the television series.

The sitcom was renewed for a second season by Hulu in July 2020, with the first episode premiering on November 19, 2021. The third season of the show was officially announced in January 2022.

When and Where to Watch The Great All Seasons?

Season 3 of “The Great” will consist of ten episodes and will be available exclusively on Hulu, as were seasons 1 and 2 before it. Because of the pandemic, the show’s second season did not premiere until November 19, 2021, as opposed to the first season, which premiered on May 15, 2020. The show’s first season premiered on May 15, 2020. As a result, it is reasonable to assume that the turnaround time between seasons 2 and 3 will be shorter, depending on how things turn out in the months ahead. (Put your hand on the wood.) A late 2022 arrival is also not out of the question, but an early 2023 arrival is more plausible in this case.

Another thing to bear in mind is that before you start “As soon as “The Great” began airing, executive producer Marian Macgowan stated that the programme was intended to last for several seasons, adding (via Decider): “We originally proposed six seasons.” In order to get us through till [Catherine] is an elderly woman, we feel we have enough material to work with.” For all intents and purposes, this means that a preliminary blueprint for season 3 has already been drafted.

What Will Happen In ‘The Great’ Season 3?

Season 3 of The Great will almost certainly focus on the fallout from Catherine’s most recent outburst. In the years after her marriage to and (somehow) falling in love with Peter III, as well as raising their son Paul, things took a bad turn when Catherine discovered that Peter had had an affair with and (unintentionally) killed her mother Joanna (Gillian Anderson).

Catherine publicly forgave Peter for his infidelity, but just moments later paid him a visit at his apartment, where she assaulted him with a knife in a frantic attack…or at least that’s what she believed she did. Catherine had really assaulted Peter’s duplicate, Pugachev before he realised it (Nicholas Hoult).

In a bizarre turn of events, Catherine then fled into Peter’s arms when he discovered a scared Catherine and a bleeding Pugachev in his bedroom. Peter immediately embraced Catherine.

In the meantime, Catherine had her devoted followers and guards arrest Peter’s supporters who were plotting their own rebellion at Mariel’s (Phoebe Fox) wedding while all of this was going on in Peter’s apartments. Mariel, Catherine’s best friend and confidante, was detained as part of this effort.

Pugachev survived the attack, and history aficionados may recall the real-life events that transpired. In 1774, Yemelyan Pugachev, acting in the role of Peter III, was the leader of a huge peasant uprising in the Russian Empire. If showrunner McNamara follows to the historical record, there is a strong possibility that Pugachev may play a significant part in Catherine’s collapse in Season 3.

In an interview with Newsweek, Fanning and Hoult also revealed that their son Paul might play a significant role in a key subplot in Season 3.

Fanning expressed himself as follows: “They have a child, and I’m not sure how old that child would be at this point. I’d like the youngster to be in the house. That sounds like it might be intriguing.”
