Rock guitarist Richard Stephen Sambora (born July 11, 1959) is best known as the founding member and longtime lead guitarist of the rock band Bon Jovi. He and Jon Bon Jovi constituted the band’s primary songwriting team. Stranger in This Town, Undiscovered Soul, and Aftermath of the Lowdown are only three of his solo albums that he has released.
At the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction event in 2018, Sambora performed alongside his old colleagues from Bon Jovi, who were also honoured that year. He created the band RSO with Orianthi that year. After two EPs, Radio Free America was released in May by the duo.

Sambora was reared as a Catholic and is of Polish ancestry. The Woodbridge High School he attended was his final stop before heading off to college in 1977. He was a member of the Woodbridge High School basketball team that won the 1975 Group 4 State Championship as a sophomore.
