Obi-wan Kenobi Release Date Status

Obi-wan Kenobi Release Date

Star Wars fans of all ages are excited about the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi. This is one of the things that bring the fandom together. After Ewan McGregor made a great start in The Phantom Menace, Obi-Wan went from being a distant and jaded character in the original trilogy to be one of the most famous and well-liked characters in the prequels. Some people might have thought that we had seen everything there was to see by the time Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels added to the story and Darth Maul, Obi-biggest Wan’s enemy, died.

Lucasfilm has kept adding to Obi-story, Wan’s giving it more depth. With characters like Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader and the scary Grand Inquisitor coming back, we can see that Obi-story Wan’s is far from over.

When Is the Release Date of Obi-Wan Kenobi?

On May 27, 2022, Disney+ will add the first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Each week after that, four more episodes will be added.

(That’s the same date as the first part of Stranger Things 4’s fourth season, so get ready to spend all weekend watching TV to catch up on everything!)

The original date was May 25, but the team changed its mind and moved the premiere to Friday. This seems to be a change from the streaming service’s usual pattern of putting out original content on Wednesdays.

But now we know what to do on Friday nights for a long time to come!

Obi-Wan Kenobi cast: Who’s in it?

Seeing Ewan McGregor back in action is obviously the most exciting thing about the series, but the rest of the cast of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” sounds just as good. Joel Edgerton, who was in “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith,” is back as Uncle Owen Lars. Bonnie Piesse, who played Aunt Beru in “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith,” is also back. But Hayden Christensen’s return as the famous bad guy Darth Vader is by far the most talked-about new member of the cast.

Rupert Friend’s role as the Grand Inquisitor was one thing that some fans didn’t like. Fans of “Star Wars Rebels” hoped that Jason Isaacs, who voiced the character in the animated series, would get the role, but the live-action version of the character looks a little different. Moses Ingram as Reva, also known as the Third Sister, maybe the show’s breakout star. Reva is a Force-sensitive Jedi hunter who is “ruthlessly ambitious,” and we haven’t met her before. The show’s creators love both the character and the actor who plays her.

Indira Varma plays an Imperial Officer named Tia, and Sung Kang plays the Fifth Brother role.

Kumail Nanjiani, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, Maya Erskine, Rory Ross, and a newcomer named Grant Feely will also be in the movie. Feely will play a young Luke Skywalker. Jimmy Smits may have a cameo as Bail Organa, but this has not been confirmed.

Who’s Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Watch a few Star Wars movies if you really don’t know. The short story: Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Jedi master who was first seen on screen in A New Hope, which came out in 1977. Alec Guinness played Kenobi. In this movie, he showed young Luke Skywalker how to use the Force for the first time. Later in that movie, his former student Darth Vader killed Obi-Wan. In the end, it was revealed that Darth Vader was Luke’s father, Anakin Skywalker, who had turned to the Dark Side and become a Jedi.

Obi-Wan died, but in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, he came back as a spirit, or “Force ghost,” to help Luke. In The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker, he even helped Rey out a little.

Who’s Obi-Wan Kenobi

The prequel trilogy, which began with 1999’s “The Phantom Menace,” starred Ewan McGregor as a young Obi-Wan and gave us our first look at his master, Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson). Qui-Gon found Anakin in the desert planet Tatooine, but Darth Maul killed him, so Obi-Wan had to teach the boy how to fight.

In Revenge of the Sith, Anakin gave in to the Dark Side and turned into Darth Vader. He then helped Emperor Palpatine get rid of the Jedi as they built the Galactic Empire. Obi-Wan lived and ran away to Tatooine with Luke, the son Anakin didn’t know he had. Luke’s twin sister, Leia, went to live with the royal family of Alderaan.
