Months After Hiker From Nebraska Disappeared On Kauai,

A hiker from Nebraska has been missing for months and new evidence has been found. The man, who was hiking on Kauai with his wife, went missing back in October. He was last seen at a waterfall but never returned to the trailhead.

His wife reported him as missing two days later when she became worried that he had not shown up to their hotel room.

After an extensive search by authorities and volunteers, they finally found some of the hikers belongings near a stream bed which led them to believe that he may have fallen into it while trying to cross it.

They also found footprints leading away from the streambed and towards a cliff where there is no other way out except jumping off.

In Hawaii, a new search for a student from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln who had been missing on the island since May has begun following a fresh development.

What Exactly Happened To Him On The Island?

Samuel Martinez, a 23-year-old college student from California, planned to spend two weeks hiking and camping on Kauai for a late spring break vacation. On May 12, 2021, he arrived on the island. On May 25th, his family reported him missing to Lincoln cops after he missed his flight home.

On February 14, 2014, Los Angeles County Authorities Revealed That They Had No Evidence Or Sign Of Samuel Martinez.

Following the missing notification, the Kauai authorities scoured the entire island for months but found no trace of Samuel. The Garden Island that, according to a Kauai police spokesperson, the department scoured locations where Martinez could have walked for evidence, but nothing was discovered.

On June 19, 2021, the police investigation was stopped until new information on his location is discovered.

Did They Discover Any New Evidence After Four Months?

According to family members, new evidence has prompted a fresh search by the Kauai Police Department (KPD). A pack of Samuel Martinez was seen on the island almost four months later.

On October 13, 2021, Ted Martinez, Samuel’s father, stated that a pack was discovered near the church camp at Kokee. The detective’s inventory of Sam’s pack reveals that he was very early in his journey when he stowed it in the bushes, perhaps to go on a shorter walk with less weight.

Based on the pack’s origin, the KPD has established a new search strategy. The government should increase the number of funds targeted to this area by other state offices like KPD, KSAR, and others. He also stated There are no words for all the emotions we experience, nor is there a way to convey our gratitude for your continued support, prayers, and efforts during this difficult time.
