Who is Tulsi Gabbard?

Tulsi Gabbard, born on April 12, 1981, is a former U.S. congressman representing Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district, an active duty officer in the United States Army Reserve, and a political commentator. Gabbard made history as the first Hindu member of Congress and the first Samoan-American member of Congress with a vote. She sought the Democratic nomination for president of the United States in 2020 before declaring independence from the party in October 2022.

Is Tulsi Gabbard a Gay?

Tulsi Gabbard, now a U.S. House of Representatives member, has gone from working for her father’s anti-gay marriage organization in the early 2000s to joining the Congressional Progressive Caucus as a staunch supporter of same-sex marriage and LGBT rights. When asked about her position on homosexual rights, Ms. Gabbard basically apologized. She admitted, “I held opinions when I was very young that I no longer believe today” and noted that she had been raised in a socially conservative environment. She has come out in support of gay marriage since then, and she voted for the Equality Act, which made sexual orientation a legally protected category in civil rights legislation and which passed the House earlier this year.
